Well it has been a busy week at our house with preparation for school to start and the end of my vacation from work! We still had some time to take photos outside in the garden. My daughter captured these two butterflies basking in the sun!
My surprise lilies (also know as magic lilies) are coming up! These lilies amaze me as the green foliage and the pretty flowers never come up at the same time. In the summer I enjoy the long, green leafy foliage, in July the foliage dies back and then once has all died back, the lilies emerge from the ground! Pretty neat! These plants enjoy fun sun and multiple each year, much like the daylilies.
This chair I found at a local thrift store for just $5.00! What a find! How cute it would be with a basket of flowers sitting on top, another project for me!
We have been enjoying a bit of a cool down here and it has been very refreshing! 80's in the daytime and 60's at night! Wow, so much better than what we had just a couple of weeks ago! Happy Gardening! Mindy

Hi Mindy,
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE your little chair in the garden. It looks just perfect in there, I think it will be just great with that basket or pot of flowers on it!
Well done. And Happy FF.

The butterflies look so happy in the gardens, they must like the cooler temps too. Love your new chair, can't wait to see what you create with it. Back to school already? Oh, where did that time go?
ReplyDeleteMy magic lilies just bloomed as well and were not supposed to be perennial here...also known as Naked Ladies...gorgeous pics
ReplyDeleteThat chair is a great find. A bucket full of flowers would be perfect on it. And your lilies are so the kind I find so romantic - the soft colours, the sweet lovely blush of pink...sigh...

Love the chair! I have similar plans for a few "needs something" spots in my garden, too. I'm with Donna - I know your magic lilies as Naked Ladies, a name that always cracks me up because I can't help but take it literally!! I'm putting in a very small pond in my garden this fall and LOVE the picture of yours!! :o)
ReplyDeleteThe lilies are very pretty.
ReplyDeleteAh your Surprise Lily is beautiful. I'd seen them in a catalog years ago but had no place for them at the time - time to plant some!
ReplyDeleteThrift stores provide us the most amazing finds don't they!
What a great thrift find, and your flowers are beautiful. Great blog!
